Seattle's SODO neighborhood became the scene of a grim investigation following the fatal stabbing of a 55-year-old man last Monday, July 14. The Seattle Police Department (SPD) is now asking for the community's help to track down a person of interest in the case—a white female with medium-length strawberry blonde hair and a distinctive tattoo on the left side of her neck, said to be a regular in the SODO area, as detailed by SPD Blotter.
The call for public assistance came after deputies from the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) and SPD officers responded to the scene near 6th Avenue South and South Massachusetts Street around 6:20 p.m. Found stabbed inside a van, the man received urgent medical attention, but despite the KCSO deputies' life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Seattle Fire Department.
A cordon was placed around the area as the homicide and crime scene investigation units did their work. Yet, no arrests have been made so far in connection with the homicide. The SPD is urging anyone with information that could lead to identifying or locating the person of interest to reach out. In a plea communicated by the SPD Blotter, "Anyone with information is asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at (206) 233-5000."
