In a recent operation on Wednesday, Seattle police narcotics detectives made a significant bust, seizing a cache of drugs and weapons from an RV parked in West Seattle. This action was part of a larger investigation into drug trafficking and a suspected fencing scheme, said the Seattle Police Department in a statement.
According to the SPD, the RV located in the 2600 block of Southwest Cambridge Street had been under surveillance due to reports of drug sales and trading stolen goods for drugs or cash. During the operation, individuals were seen frequently entering and leaving the vehicle, an activity that had been monitored over several weeks. One resident of the RV was arrested in what the police described as a coordinated effort that included both narcotics detectives and officers from the Southwest Precinct.
The search of the vehicle yielded approximately 159.9 grams of Fentanyl, 38.8 grams of Methamphetamine, along with two shotguns, two handguns, a variety of ammunition, a scale, a phone, and an undisclosed amount of cash. The combined seizures of drugs and firearms underscore the intersection of drug trafficking and gun violence that challenges communities.
Following the arrest and seizure, authorities moved to clean up the area and towed the RV from the scene. Seattle’s ongoing battle with narcotics distribution and related crimes has been highlighted by operations like this, signaling a continued emphasis on disrupting the cycle of drug and crime epidemics.
