Following a recent visit to the Lawton/Ft. Sill Veterans Center, Senator Brenda Stanley conveyed her commitment to improving veteran care in Oklahoma. As reported by the Oklahoma Senate's press release, Stanley, along with Sen. Julia Kirt, was keen to observe the enhancements made in the care provided at the facility.
Senator Stanley, who also chairs the Senate Veterans and Military Affairs Committee, highlighted the importance of serving veterans. "The Lawton/Ft. Sill Veterans Center has made significant strides in enhancing daily care for its residents, and I am committed to supporting continued advancements at veterans’ facilities across our state, ensuring all veterans have access to this level of care," she said on Oklahoma Senate. The statement seemed aimed at reinforcing her dedication to the cause during her tenure.
The senators' tour included interactions with the staff and the veterans residing at the long-term care facility. The center currently has the capacity to serve up to 200 veterans, providing them with a range of care services. The improvements at the center include the presence of full-time nursing staff and maintaining a staff-to-patient ratio that goes beyond the standard requirements, a sign of the center's commitment to quality care for those who have served.
"This facility exemplifies the progress we’ve achieved in meeting the needs of our veterans. I extend my appreciation to the dedicated staff who ensure our retired servicemembers receive the highest quality of care," Stanley added, acknowledging the efforts of those on the front line of veteran support services, as mentioned on the Oklahoma Senate website.
