According to NBA on their X account, 30 teams will begin in-season tournament play on October 31, divided into six groups. Group play will continue through November 28. As stated, "with 8 teams advancing out of groups into the knockout rounds, with the semifinals and championship held in Las Vegas, December 13 and 16!" The Milwaukee Bucks, the current NBA Cup holders, will defend their title in a format that includes both home and away games.

The NBA's in-season tournament quarterfinals are scheduled for December 9 and 10, with games counting toward the regular season standings. Teams that do not advance to the quarterfinals will play additional games against other non-qualifiers to complete the 82-game season. In East Group C, the Milwaukee Bucks will play against New York, Chicago, Charlotte, and Miami. The full group stage schedule, including home and away games, will be released in August as part of the 2025–26 season schedule, as mentioned by ESPN.
