St. Augustine residents are advised to plan for changes to their evening traffic routes as the city enters a key stage of the King Street Water Main Improvement Project. From Monday, July 14, through Wednesday, July 16, lane reductions will be in effect on King Street between US-1 and Malaga Street.

This change will happen nightly from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. According to a City of St. Augustine announcement, traffic will be managed by flagmen and will return to its usual two-lane flow every morning after work ends.

The City advises motorists to drive carefully through the construction zone and follow all signs and instructions from flaggers. Officials aim to minimize the impact on daily traffic by scheduling the work during nighttime hours.

TB Landmark, the contractor responsible for the water main work, is operating independently of another major infrastructure effort—the Florida Department of Transportation's bridge replacement project, which is slated to begin in the fall of this year.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed about ongoing infrastructure projects and related traffic updates by regularly visiting the city's official website.
