St. Johns County Sheriff's Office recently celebrated the accomplishment of one of its own, SJSO Explorer Landon Pabon, who graduated from the FBI National Academy Associates Youth Leadership Academy, held at Camp Sorenson on Wednesday. Representing Explorer Post 911, Landon was boldly selected to partake in the eight-day leadership development program deemed highly competitive.
The Youth Leadership Academy, tailored for high school sophomores and juniors, encompasses a curriculum that boasts classroom instruction and physical fitness training alongside inspiring guest speakers, and pragmatic leadership experiences. According to a social media post by the St. Johns Sheriff's Office, the program covers a vast scope of subjects from public speaking to ethical decision-making, with an emphasis on nurturing vital life skills such as gun safety, financial responsibility, and time management.
