St. Louis Park is hitting the right notes this summer with a lineup of free concerts that promises to bring a blend of rhythms and melodies to the open air of Veterans' Memorial Amphitheater. The City of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, has orchestrated a series of performances that cater to a variety of musical tastes, ensuring community members can enjoy live music without spending a dime.
For fans of the smooth and sultry sounds of Bossa Nova, the park welcomes Bossa Soul on July 9, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., to kick off the series. As the summer evenings unfold, attendees can look to experience everything from Shakespeare to salsa. The Classical Actors Ensemble is set to deliver dramatic flair on July 11, from 7 to 9:15 p.m., and Salsa Del Soul will get people to move their feet rhythmically on July 16, in a session running from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Country aficionados will have their turn to tap along with Jeff Dayton on July 19 between 6 and 8 p.m., while Power of 10 will bring their rich brass and bold beats on July 23, commencing at 7 p.m. The St. Louis Park Community Band will proudly close out the month on July 30, inviting locals to relish in community-driven performances from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Moreover, the park has not forgotten about the little rock stars. The kids' summer concerts series will entertain the younger crowd on Wednesdays from 10 to 11 a.m. Upcoming shows include "Todd 'n' Tina" on July 9 and "Kid Power with Rachael" on July 16, with additional acts The Bazillions and Jolly Pops slated for July 23 and July 30, respectively. Additionally, local talent will have the opportunity to possibly impress, hopefully inspire, in Open Mic Nights every Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m., including performers like Perfect World, Hanson's Daughter, Lilianna Rindal, and a special performance by Sea Others Glow with Sea Others Foundation to round off the month.
All events will take place at the Veterans' Memorial Amphitheater at 3700 Monterey Drive, as noted in the city's social media post. So slather on the sunscreen, grab your lawn chairs and your friends, and prepare to indulge in a smorgasbord of live music that will define yet another spirited season of Minnesota summers.
