Patrol officers, responding to the sound of gunfire at 1:59 a.m., came upon a troubling scene, discovering a woman in her car, accompanied by her unharmed children, exhibiting multiple gunshot wounds. After officers heard shooting, they found her struggling to survive in the 9200 block of Rainier Avenue South. Offering aid, the Seattle Fire Department promptly transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center, where she was listed in serious but stable condition, as reported by the Seattle Police Department.
Authorities pieced together a disheartening sequence of events. It appears the violence erupted in a parking lot of an apartment complex in the 8700 block of Rainier Avenue South. The assailant, identified as a gun-wielding male clad in ballistic armor, confronted the woman in her car.
