The Metropolitan Police Department has taken a suspect into custody for a recent robbery in the Northeast quadrant of the city. According to an official release from the MPD, the incident occurred Monday evening around 8:10 p.m. The victim, listening to music with headphones, was caught off guard when a suspect grabbed the AirPods directly from his ears on the Unit block of M Street, Northwest.
Following the robbery, officers responding to the scene managed to apprehend the perpetrator attempting to make a swift exit. The accused, identified only as a 17-year-old male from the Northwest sector of D.C., now faces charges for Robbery (Snatch).
Authorities continue to urge the public to stay alert, particularly when using high-value electronics in public spaces. At this time, no additional details about the juvenile have been released.
