Following a medical alert, Denver police made progress in a tragic I-25 hit-and-run case when they arrested 29-year-old Marisol Infante. The Denver Police Department issued a Medina Alert, a system used to rapidly disseminate information about hit-and-run suspects, in this instance for the black Toyota 4Runner that Infante was allegedly driving. On Wednesday, two days after the Medina Alert was activated, Infante was taken into custody, as reported by KDVR. The quick action of issuing a Medina Alert proved instrumental in apprehending Infante following the fatal crash.
According to the narrative pieced together by authorities, the crash took place on July 5 around 7 a.m., leaving a pedestrian dead. The victim, whose name has not been released, was reportedly changing their tire on the right shoulder of I-25 when the fatal hit occurred. The event prompted an immediate investigation and search for the responsible party, culminating in this week's arrest.
In a development that underscored the gravity of the situation, Infante, after evading immediate detention, turned herself in at the Boulder Police Station at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday. She was arrested without incident, as per Denver7. Having been out of jail on Thursday morning, having appeared in court, Infante is scheduled for her second court advisement on July 25.
