
A tragic hit-and-run incident in West Hollywood has claimed the life of a bicyclist, with the suspected driver still on the loose. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s West Hollywood Station reported the fatal collision occurred around 9:47 p.m. on Thursday at the intersection of Fountain Avenue and Gardner Street. KTLA conveyed that the victim was westbound on Fountain Avenue when they were struck by a white older model BMW sedan traveling in the same direction.
The sheriff’s department reports that after the collision, the unidentified white sedan fled the scene, leaving behind the severely injured bicyclist. Despite prompt transportation to Cedars Sinai Hospital by emergency services, the victim succumbed to their injuries. Details on how long the bicyclist was left unattended before assistance arrived have not been disclosed. Currently, no suspect descriptions or arrests have been made public, but the white sedan is expected to have significant damage, notably a shattered windshield on the passenger side, as per details obtained from a West Hollywood Sheriff's Station Facebook post.
The officials have yet to determine the cause of the collision as the investigation is still ongoing. It remains unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the incident.
