A theft at a local Walmart turned into a high-speed police pursuit ending with a vehicle careering into a South Houston home. The Pasadena Police Department confirmed that the chase began after officers were dispatched to the Walmart at 2011 Shaver Street to investigate a reported theft, as CW39 News recounted. During the apprehension efforts, one suspect was caught after a foot pursuit, while another fled in a vehicle.
The chase came to a conclusion when the suspect's vehicle smashed into a residence on Edward Drive, where, according to CW39, a 75-year-old woman inside the house sustained an arm injury and was transported to a hospital. The suspect’s identity has not been made public. The homeowner, who does not have insurance, is now dealing with the resulting property damage.
Additional details provided by ABC13 reveal that the suspect's vehicle collision set the impacted house ablaze. Fire crews were dispatched at 4:06 p.m. to respond to the blaze that broke out following the collision. Footage captured the extent of the crash and the fire that subsequently consumed the home.
