
An unusual traffic incident in Murfreesboro caused a stir when an SUV ended up nearly vertical, propped against a utility pole following a single-vehicle crash. According to WSMV, the Murfreesboro Police Department reported that emergency crews were dispatched to the accident at the intersection of Thompson Lane and Memorial Boulevard.
The Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department swiftly arrived to find the vehicle on two wheels, leaning precariously against the pole. Working diligently, rescue crews managed to stabilize the SUV using steel rods, ensuring the eastbound traffic on Thompson Lane was redirected to Regency Park Drive during the operation, with one lane remaining open for westbound traffic, "emergency crews are on the scene of a motor vehicle crash at Thompson Lane and Memorial Blvd. A vehicle crashed into a utility pole. MFRD firefighters are working to stabilize the vehicle," stated Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department in a social media post.
The driver, a female who was alone in the vehicle at the time of the incident, was unable to exit the SUV, as the driver's door was left suspended about six feet above the ground. WGNS Radio reported that the victim was carefully extracted from the vehicle by rescue workers and then transported by ambulance to a local hospital in a stable condition.
First responder teams demonstrated a high level of professionalism during the incident, coordinating efforts between Murfreesboro Fire-Rescue, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services, Murfreesboro Police, and Middle Tennessee Electric. The swift intervention protected the public and ensured traffic could resume.
