A rubbish fire broke out beneath a commercial-sized bus on Kapiolani Boulevard on Sunday. According to the Honolulu Fire Department, the incident was promptly responded to by fire personnel.
The Honolulu Fire Department received a 911 call about a vehicle fire at 12:12 p.m. and arrived at the scene by 12:20 p.m. Firefighters used portable extinguishers to put out the fire and checked the area for any bystanders. They then carried out overhaul procedures to look for any hidden fires and made sure the scene was safe.
The Honolulu Fire Department confirmed that all personnel were accounted for and no injuries were reported after a rubbish fire under a bus. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause, origin, and damage. The Honolulu Fire Department stated, "All searches for occupants in and around the bus confirmed that no one was in the area." Community members and businesses will receive updates once the final report is completed.
