A tragic collision on a familiar stretch of road in Orange County has resulted in the death of a Tampa man last night. According to the Florida Highway Patrol's crash report, as reported by ClickOrlando, the accident happened around 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of Valencia College Lane and Short Pine Circle, where a motorcycle collided with an SUV.
The report details how the 27-year-old motorcyclist, hailing from Tampa, was traveling east on Valencia College Lane when a 38-year-old Orlando man in an SUV attempted a left turn onto Short Pine Circle and entered the motorcycle's path, resulting in the crash. The SUV driver, on the other hand, was left unharmed and cooperated with officials at the scene.
Emergency services transported the injured motorcyclist to the hospital, where, tragically, he was pronounced dead. Echoing the details from the initial report, a separate account by Orlando-News specified that the rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, an unfortunate choice that might have impacted the gravity of the outcome.
