Two teenage boys are in recovery following a stabbing incident that occurred at a community fair in Huntington Station, Suffolk County. According to authorities, a conflict involving a group of teens and young men escalated during the Huntington Manor Fire Department Fireman's Fair, which was held behind Stimson Middle School last night. The situation took a grave turn at approximately 8:50 p.m. when two individuals suffered knife wounds.
As reported by ABC7NY, a 14-year-old boy was seriously injured in the altercation. An older teen, age 17, also received stab wounds, but they were described as non-life-threatening. After the fight broke out at the fair that continues to run through Saturday, stepped up patrols have been promised by the Suffolk County Police. At the time of the incident, no arrests had yet been made.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, as detectives actively seek information regarding the night's events. As conveyed by the firefighters who were on scene, one of the injured teens sought help at the fairground, which fortunately had a significant presence of EMTs and first responders available. This account was substantiated by information obtained from NBC New York, stating, "one of the teens walked toward the fair looking for help and was fortunate to find it full of EMTs and first responders."
