Drivers navigating downtown Colorado Springs will see some changes as the Tejon Street Revitalization Project continues its mission to bolster pedestrian safety and business vitality.
Started yesterday, northbound Tejon Street has reopened between Colorado Avenue and Pikes Peak Avenue, as confirmed by Colorado Springs' official announcement. While drivers can freely traverse northward on this block, southbound lanes will be closed temporarily to allow construction to progress smoothly on the west side of Tejon Street.
Since the project broke ground on March 24, crews have worked tirelessly to not only widen dining patios but also to ensure the sidewalks are more accessible for pedestrians. Work on the east side is nearing completion, setting a precedent of transformation, one that aims to marry urban efficiency with the community's needs seamlessly.
