The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced the full reopening of the Bayou Dularge Bascule Bridge, also known as LA 315, to vehicular traffic as of 8 AM yesterday, July 24. The bridge's return to operation is part of a broader initiative to maintain and enhance the infrastructure in Terrebonne Parish. The DOTD provided these updates in a recent announcement.

Another bridge in the area, the Boudreaux Canal Bridge/LA 56, also resumed service to vehicles as of 2:30 PM, July 18. Along with this reopening, there are plans for a new bridge set to replace the current structure, with an estimated cost of $30 million. This project is slated to enter the bidding phase by next summer, promising further improvements to the local thoroughfares.

The significant investments into the region’s infrastructure don’t stop there, as evidenced by the newly built $30 million Company Canal Bridge, which opened to vehicular traffic on June 30. The freshness of the Company Canal Bridge stands in contrast to the community’s older bridges, some of which have seen over five decades of service.

Current work is ongoing at the Daigleville Bridge/LA 24 to LA 659, which opened in 2006 and is now undergoing repairs by C.E.C., Inc. Officials expect to reopen the bridge in October. Meanwhile, the Bayou Blue Pontoon Bridge on LA 316 and Romero St. is also under repair following a boat collision. Repairs conducted by Reliant Industrial Solutions, LLC, include the reconditioning of critical components and are scheduled for completion by the end of August, ensuring these crucial crossings are restored for public use.
