A Thousand Oaks man has been arrested for narcotics sales in an operation that's part of the local law enforcement's intensified campaign against drug distribution. Ryan Jasinski, 34, was taken into custody by the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU) on charges of possession for sale of controlled substances and transportation for the same, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The DEU initiated an investigation into Jasinski back in May, after receiving tips about his alleged activities. Officials said, "DEU initiated an investigation into Jasinski for narcotics sales and developed probable cause to arrest him for a violation of Health and Safety Code 11351 – Possession for Sale of a Controlled Substance." On June 3, following the arrest of Jasinski, authorities executed a search warrant at his home where they found fentanyl, methamphetamine, and psilocybin mushrooms packaged for sale, tallying up to around five ounces in total weight, according to the release from the sheriff's office.
The detailed charges against Jasinski include H&S 11351, 11352 (A), 11378, and 11379 (A), spanning possession and transportation for sale of controlled substances. The suspect was booked at the East Valley Jail following his apprehension. The DEU, comprising eight detectives, focuses on intelligence-led policing aimed at rooting out prolific offenders in the East County communities.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office expressed gratitude for the community's support in such operations, stating, "We are better at what we do because of our community partnerships."
People with information about illegal activities are urged to reach out to Senior Deputy Jonathan San Jose at 805-371-8388, while a reward up to $1,000 is being offered by the Ventura County Crime Stoppers for tips that lead to arrests and criminal complaints related to these crimes.
