Three children were urgently airlifted to Texas Children’s Hospital after an ATV accident in northeast Harris County last night. The incident took place at the intersection of 18900 Spokane Falls Trail and Yuma Hills Circle, located in a recently developed neighborhood north of Crosby, as reported by FOX 26 Houston.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez shared that four juveniles were on the single-rider ATV at the time of the crash. The group included two nine-year-olds, one fourteen-year-old, and a two-year-old toddler sitting in the lap of the 14-year-old. None of the children sustained life-threatening injuries.
Authorities have stated that the teenager reported a vehicle had struck the ATV, causing the youngsters to lose control. However, no evidence has been found to confirm another vehicle's involvement, according to Click2Houston. The Sheriff's office has not released more details on the collision, but the investigation remains active as they piece together the events that lead to the accident.
Following the crash, the two-year-old received treatment at the scene and was then released to her parents, Sgt. Beaty of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office stated. The toddler’s parents declined further medical transport. The Sheriff's Office has not provided further details regarding the crash or the condition of the children who were hospitalized.
