According to a CBS Austin release, the shooting occurred near the intersection of San Antonio Street and Guadalupe Street. In the wake of the tragedy, law enforcement maintained a significant presence in the area, with initial traffic disruptions expected to last for several hours.
A statement provided by the San Marcos Police Department indicated, "Several people have been detained and there is no ongoing threat to the public."
