The late-night calm in southeast Houston was shattered when a drive-by shooting erupted outside a nightclub, leaving two dead and wounding multiple others. According to Click2Houston, the violence unfolded shortly after 11:45 p.m. yesterday outside “Bug’s Bar” on Dixie Drive near Mykawa Road and the 610 loop, with an assailant in a gray sedan firing into the crowd and hitting seven individuals; some victims were self-transported to medical facilities, while others were ferried by ambulance.
Of the seven shot, one casualty was confirmed dead at the scene, while another tragically succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital. The ordeal has not only left a community seeking answers, but it also prompted a swift police response, wherein Assistant Chief Adrian Rodriguez of the Houston Police Department addressed the press on the night’s harrowing events, stating that "multiple shots were fired from a gray or silver four-door sedan into a crowd gathered outside the club," further revealing that the ages of those caught in the gunfire varied, including what may be a juvenile, as told by KHOU.
