Chaos erupted at an Orange County apartment complex this weekend, with gunfire leading to a substantial response from local law enforcement. According to ClickOrlando, multiple squad cars from the Orange County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to The Baldwin apartments following reports of a shooting that left two people injured. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon, unfolding between Semoran Boulevard and Forsyth Road on East Colonial Drive.
Details from the scene began to surface as residents shared their accounts. A resident, engaging with ClickOrlando, reported, "A guy told me that he heard 10 to 20 shots, and he called the cops.” The aftermath was palpable, with not only a swarm of sheriff's vehicles but also Orange County Fire Rescue ambulances, as captured in images obtained by the outlet. However, amid the clamor and concern, some residents expressed frustration over the lack of immediate information. “I haven’t heard anything about it, so that’s really shocking too,” said resident Sarah Garcia. “That nobody has posted anything on our chat.”
Shedding light on the victims, the sheriff's office informed that they found a man in his 30s with critical injuries and a woman in her 20s suffering from non-life-threatening injuries. As per a statement obtained by WESH, both individuals were quickly transported to the hospital for emergency medical care. The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. However, deputies relayed that all parties at the crime scene were accounted for, stressing there was no lingering threat to the public.
