The incident occurred near the area of Albert Chapman Elementary School just before 11 p.m., as reported by ABC6. The vehicle was headed south when the driver lost control, causing it to spin and ultimately collide with a utility pole.
Details from the Columbus Division of Police, obtained by WBNS, indicate that the vehicle involved was a 2015 Infiniti. The collision was reported around 10:50 p.m., just north of Sawmill Reserve Drive. The reason behind the driver's loss of control remains uncertain, and the crash is currently under investigation.
The aftermath of the crash included a vehicular fire, as the car ignited after striking the utility pole, NBC4i reports.
