
Two individuals have been taken into custody by the Metropolitan Police Department in connection with a robbery in Southeast Washington, D.C. The incident took place last Sunday morning. According to the MPD, the suspects allegedly targeted a victim on Chesapeake Street as they waited for a rideshare vehicle, assaulting them and forcibly taking their belongings.
Officers from the Seventh District responded to the scene after the robbery was reported at around 1:45 a.m. A pair matching the suspect descriptions was spotted by the police while canvassing the neighborhood. Both individuals were detained for further questioning and subsequently arrested.
In a release provided by the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspects have been identified as 34-year-old Latrisha Pickett and 25-year-old Caprice Thomas, both residents of the Southeast area. They have been charged with Robbery (Force and Violence) as a result of the detectives' thorough investigation into the case.
