Two women were caught in the crossfire and injured in a late-night shooting that shook the Homestead neighborhood. According to a report by WPXI, the incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. in the 1200 block of Hays Street, where first responders found both victims.
After the sound of gunfire disrupted the relative peace of a residential street, emergency services were swift to respond. Police confirmed, as indicated in their findings, that multiple shell casings were scattered at the scene. When they arrived at the scene, they found one woman with two gunshot wounds to the leg, who was subsequently taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition. The second woman, having been grazed by a bullet on the shoulder, did not require hospitalization.
As reported by WTAE, the Allegheny County Police have been diligently working the case since the night of the shooting. No arrests have been made since this morning, and the neighborhood was still on edge.
