The dining scene in Oakland County has taken an unexpected turn with the sudden closure of Anita's Kitchen, a popular restaurant located in Lake Orion. The doors were shut on Sunday, July 13, the same day the closure was announced on social media. Without immediate prelude, the owners indicated that an unexpected opportunity had arisen, prompting the abrupt end to the Lake Orion establishment's operations. "An opportunity has presented itself," they stated, leading to the decision to close, per ClickOnDetroit.
Despite the closure, Anita's Kitchen has made certain to elaborate on its support for the restaurant's staff, who face a sudden job transition. Employees have been given the option to transfer to the brand's other locations in Detroit or Ferndale. Making it clear that it's not the staff's end of the road with the company, Anita's Kitchen stated, "We also have made efforts to connect staff with currently operating local restaurants who are hiring." The Ferndale, Detroit, and Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) locations remain in service.
In a heartfelt message to their customers and the Lake Orion community, Anita's Kitchen took to Facebook to delve further into the reasoning behind the closure. Expressing sincere gratitude for the support and patronage throughout the years, they reflected on the closure as a difficult but necessary step in alignment with their long-term goals. "It has truly been an honor and a privilege to serve you," relayed the message from Anita's Kitchen, which placed a high value on the bond with its customers.
