Residents and commuters in Frisco might want to plan for some extra travel time, as a new slate of roadwork projects is set to impact traffic in the coming weeks. According to the City of Frisco, these projects, weather permitting, are estimated to be wrapped up within two weeks, but as any local knows, it's best to prepare for delays.
The new pavement replacement projects are kicking off at W.B. Lebanon Rd. at Lone Star Ranch Pkwy. and 10087 Red Cedar Dr. at Kings Ridge Rd. At the same time, ongoing work continues to disrupt the flow at Norfolk Ln. at Jereme Trail. Notoriously congested already, Eastbound Eldorado Pkwy. at Preston Rd., will also see its two right lanes closed, though they should be reopened already if schedules held since yesterday, which absolutely can hinder plans for a smooth commute.
With this information in mind, drivers should consider alternative routes or perhaps adjust their travel times to avoid the brunt of construction-related congestion. It's no secret that these active zones not only slow down traffic but also pose a safety risk if caution is not heeded.
Adding to the traffic disruptions, W.B. Lebanon Rd. at Quail Hollow Dr., along with Sahalle Dr. & Commonwealth Dr., are also on the city's list for pavement replacements. While these repairs are necessary for maintaining infrastructure, they invariably add to the daily travel puzzle residents must navigate. Ideally, commuters should keep these spots in mind when plotting their daily journeys over the next couple of weeks.
