A tragic traffic incident in Lothian, Anne Arundel County, resulted in the death of 43-year-old Katrina Prieur of Upper Marlboro. According to FOX Baltimore, last Friday night, Anne Arundel County Police were called to the scene of a collision between a motorcycle and a car at the intersection of Mount Zion Road and Main Street.
The preliminary investigation suggests that Prieur was operating a 2009 Yamaha Star motorcycle heading west on Mount Zion Road when a 2012 Honda Accord turning left from Main Street crossed the westbound lane, leading to a collision. "The motorcycle struck the Honda in the driver's side rear quarter panel", police said. This accident caused Prieur to be ejected onto the roadway. Despite being flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, Prieur succumbed to her injuries last Saturday, as per FOX Baltimore.
Details from a report by WMAR2 News clarified that the driver of the Honda, a 20-year-old male, sustained no injuries in the crash. It remains unclear whether any charges will be filed or if impairment contributed to the crash. The Anne Arundel County Police’s crash reconstruction team is conducting a thorough investigation to outline the full narrative of the events that led to this fatal encounter.
