In a move that could significantly reshape the landscape of healthcare access in Utah County, Utah Valley University and the Marc C. and Deborah H. Bingham Foundation have joined forces to launch the Bingham Family Clinic, a no-cost, comprehensive community medical center on the UVU campus. The Orem City Government's official social media blast announced that this new full-service clinic is slated to open doors to the public this winter, providing a range of essential medical services to those in need.

UVU President Astrid S. Tuminez expressed her vision of the project obtained by the City of Orem Government, saying, "The Bingham Family Clinic represents the best way to connect education and compassion." Tuminez further emphasized the dual benefit of the establishment, stating, "We are building a future where every person, regardless of circumstance, has access to quality healthcare. The clinic will also prepare UVU students to lead with skill, empathy, and purpose." Through this endeavor, UVU hopes to create an environment of exceptional care that both serves the community and enhances student education.

The clinic is set to operate out of the Health Professions Building on UVU’s West Campus, designed as a beacon for those struggling to obtain healthcare due to a lack of insurance or financial constraints. Services poised to be offered include primary care, various specialty appointments, dental hygiene, and an on-site pharmacy, all without the typical barriers to entry that can deter individuals from seeking medical help.

With operations planned for five days a week, this initiative responds to a pressing need among the underserved populations of Utah County by not only expanding medical services but also by acting to more firmly connect those in need with local community resources. According to the City of Orem Government, the clinic also stands to offer UVU students hands-on experience in a clinical setting, a move designed to simultaneously educate and provide actual care in real-world scenarios.
