Early morning, Carroll County's own Vanessa's Corner Pub was engulfed in flames, causing significant damage to the local eatery. Fire crews were alerted around 4:00 AM and arrived at the intersection of Routes 26 and 27, a busy hub in the community, only to witness heavy smoke and aggressive flames engulfing the popular establishment, as reported by WMAR-2 News.
The effort to subdue the blaze was intense, necessitating the deployment of approximately 50 firefighters and nearly an hour to contain it. Meanwhile, commuters were met with an unexpected detour as traffic was redirected to accommodate the emergency response, according to the same report by WMAR-2 News. Injuries, fortunately, were not part of this disruptive morning incident.
Deputy State Fire Marshals are currently conducting investigations into the cause with the assistance of a fire investigation K-9 named Blondie. This special team is piecing together the events that led to the extensive damage of the well-loved pub, FOX Baltimore reported. Additionally, the Carroll County Permits and Inspections Department, in collaboration with the Carroll County Health Department, is assessing both the structural stability of the building and the safety of its kitchen products.
