The Vegas Golden Knights have acquired forward Mitch Marner from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Nicolas Roy. A 28-year-old forward has signed an eight-year, $96 million contract extension with the Vegas team, keeping him under contract through the 2032-33 season, as reported by 8 News Now. The move is part of a sign-and-trade deal that sends Roy to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Marner, who spent nine seasons with the Maple Leafs, recorded 221 goals, 520 assists, and a plus-minus rating of +128. He also had 63 points in 70 playoff games and was selected to the NHL All-Star Game three times, as per Vegas Golden Knights.
Marner contributed to Canada’s victory at the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off, scoring a game-winning goal against Sweden and assisting the overtime goal against Team USA. He has joined the Vegas Golden Knights and is expected to play a key role in the team’s upcoming seasons.
