Apple Valley's Sheriff's Deputies cracked down on a burglary case at Metro PCS last Friday, leading to arrests and the recovery of a hefty haul of stolen goods. Two local men, Marcus Barney Jr and Paul Wright Jr, both 37 years old from Victorville, have been nabbed for their alleged involvement in the case.
It was in the early morning hours of July 11 when Barney reportedly shattered a window to gain unlawful entry into the store, located at 21520 Bear Valley Road. According to the San Bernardino Sheriff-Coroner Department, Barney swept up cash and merchandise valued around $23,000 from a locked metal box before making his getaway. In possession of the stolen items, found the duo was detained at a residence in Victorville by deputies swiftly.
The official report states that both suspects were arrested without a scuffle and the stolen merchandise was returned to the rightful owner. Barney faces charges for burglary and possession of stolen property, while Wright is being charged with possession of stolen property alone.
Currently, Barney and Wright are being held at High Desert Detention Center, their bail set at $30,000 each.
