
A violent incident on Kalihi Street led to an attempted murder and left another person injured. Honolulu Police responded to the scene shortly before 9:00 p.m. after receiving reports of an assault. A section of Kalihi Street between Kahai Street and Democrat Street remains closed as the investigation continues, as reported by the Honolulu Police Department.
A 22-year-old man was shot while spending time with friends after an encounter with an unknown suspect, who may have been wearing a dark blue tank top and black sweatpants with white writing. The victim contacted his 28-year-old relative for help. When the relative arrived, he got involved in a separate incident where he injured an elderly man by throwing an object at him and then threatened him with a knife. Police arrested the relative for assault and terroristic threatening, as stated by the Honolulu Police Department.
According to the Honolulu Police Department on their Facebook page, an initial shooting left one person in serious condition and an elderly man injured during a related altercation; he was treated and released at the scene. The department is asking anyone with information to call 911 or Crimestoppers as the investigation continues.
