Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office identified the driver as Donald King Jr., who carried an active parole warrant for prior weapons charges. The incident took an abrupt turn when King tried to flee on foot, prompting deputies to deploy a taser to subdue him.
With King immobilized, the arresting officers unearthed more than was bargained for. Found on his person were illicit substances – specifically 0.3 grams of cocaine and 18.8 grams of Ecstasy – alongside a firearm. Having been wanted for Felon in Possession of a Weapon, King now faced additional charges, including Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Constable Mark Herman's Office provided a detailed account of the arrest. "Donald Ray King Jr. was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with his open parole warrant, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Felon in Possession of a Weapon. His total bond for the new charges was set at $60,000.00 out of the 482nd District Court," was the statement released on their official Facebook page.
