Among the seizures was a Glock 23 .40 caliber handgun recovered on Maple View Place, Southeast. Additionally, the MPD operations also led to the arrest of several individuals, including 48-year-old Dwayne Jovan Taylor for carrying a pistol without a license and possession of unregistered ammunition in the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast.
The haul included various types of handguns, with different calibers detailing the diversity of illegal firearms that penetrate urban settings. The MPD's release highlighted the recovery of a Hopkins & Allen 36 .38 caliber revolver, a Glock 29 10mm caliber handgun, and two 9mm caliber handguns, among others. The suspects arrested ranged from juveniles as young as 15 and 17 years of age, to adults in their thirties, all facing a series of charges from carrying a pistol without a license to possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance while armed.
A particularly notable arrest involved a juvenile, intercepted in the act of handling a SCCY Industries CPX-2 9mm caliber handgun and a Glock 26 9mm caliber handgun in the 4100 block of Wheeler Road, Southeast.
