
The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department shared a solemn announcement on social media, marking the end of an era with the passing of retired K9 Justice, a devoted member of their team. According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department Facebook page, K9 Justice served the community with honor and distinction for 7 years before enjoying five years of retirement.
Known for his commitment, K9 Justice was involved in more than 1,000 calls for service, adeptly handling tasks that ranged from narcotics detection to patrol duties his activities didn't just help the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Office but also extended support to nearly every municipal law enforcement agency within the county as well as cooperating with state and federal entities. After hanging up his badge, he lived a relaxed life alongside his handler and partner, Lieutenant Thompson, where he was afforded the serenity and appreciation due for his years of dedicated service.
Throughout his years of duty, Justice became an integral part of the Tactical Enforcement Unit and left a profound impact on those who had worked with him. The Waukesha County Sheriff's Department reminisced that "Justice’s loyalty and service made a lasting impact on Waukesha County, and his memory will live on in all those who had the privilege to work alongside him," demonstrating the respect and admiration they held for their four-legged colleague. The legacy left by Justice carries forward the commitment of law enforcement animals and their importance within our communities.
