Participants can submit their observations using the mobile app Survey123, which streamlines the process of collecting data on the reproductive status of game birds—an important component in wildlife management. According to the DNR, residents across Wisconsin can contribute by gathering data from their local areas.
Sightings can be reported whenever residents encounter game birds during their summer activities, as long as it is done safely and not while driving. No registration is required, making participation accessible. A mobile device and attention to local bird activity are all that is needed to take part.
Data collected through this survey plays a key role in tracking game bird reproduction throughout the breeding season and supports informed decision-making by DNR scientists in species management. Observations should be submitted by August 31, to ensure the data accurately represents the current breeding year.
