A 39-year-old woman is recuperating from multiple gunshot wounds sustained in an early morning shooting in South Baltimore yesterday. According to FOX Baltimore, the shooting occurred around 12:15 a.m. in the 1000 block of South Charles Street, where police on foot patrol heard gunfire and found the victim. She was promptly taken to a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Footage, secured by WJZ, illustrated the ensuing chaos as seven gunshots resounded in Federal Hill, with individuals visibly scattering to avoid harm. An employee from a local restaurant offered a recount to CBS News Baltimore, providing a window into the harrowing moments: "I was packing up stuff, and I heard some gunshot[s] and then when I looked up, people just ran," said the unnamed employee, who's no stranger to such violence due to the five years spent working there.
Police have placed a person of interest in custody concerning the incident, while Southern District Shooting detectives have taken over the investigation.
