Law enforcement in Yuba County has put a notable dent in illegal firearm possession following a recent search warrant execution by the Sheriff's Office. According to a social media post by the Yuba County Sheriff's Department, authorities carried out the warrant as part of a larger firearms and narcotics investigation last Friday, targeting a residence in Olivehurst.
While Sven Johnson, the 41-year-old suspect, evaded law enforcement at his Dan Avenue home during the raid, detectives uncovered and seized an arsenal of illegal weaponry. Included among the haul were 16 firearms, various ammunition, body armor, and reloading equipment—a stash, hidden behind a false wall and within a large safe in Johnson's bedroom. At least four of the firearms were previously owned by law enforcement and had been reported missing before ending up in Johnson’s possession.
Johnson, who has a criminal record that nullifies his right to bear arms, has now found himself the subject of an arrest warrant for multiple firearm-related offenses. The Sheriff’s Office has made an appeal to the public for assistance in locating Johnson, emphasizing the urgency and importance of their request due to the nature of the crimes.
Law enforcement encourages anyone with information on the whereabouts of Johnson, who remains at large, to reach out with information that could lead to his arrest and potentially prevent future unlawful activities.
