On Saturday morning, an 18-wheeler tanker caught fire and exploded on the US-90 Alternate entrance ramp at Fondren, blocking the ramp and nearby roads. The Houston Fire Department confirmed the incident, according to KHOU.
Houston TranStar reported that the westbound highway and three frontage road lanes were blocked after an 18-wheeler caught fire on the entrance ramp. The first report came at 9:26 a.m. Houston TranStar cameras recorded the fire, which produced large plumes of black smoke visible from the Sam Houston Tollway. The Houston Fire Department said no injuries occurred.
