The shooting occurred on the evening of June 18 on the 23000 block of Huber Avenue, where Paton, a recent graduate of Culver City High School, was struck by gunfire, as reported by KTLA.
Despite an arrest being made following an investigation, charges were not filed due to a lack of corroborating evidence. Officials, including L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn, have expressed their commitment to solving this case and issued a plea to the public. "This is a parent's worst nightmare," Hahn stated, emphasizing the urgency for justice in a statement obtained by CBS News Los Angeles. "Chyler had an entire life to life until someone viciously cut it short.
