Seattle police are actively investigating a shooting incident that left a 22-year-old woman seriously wounded in West Seattle on Thursday. Patrol officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Southwest Admiral Way and 51st Avenue Southwest at approximately 10:50 p.m., according to the Seattle Police Department. Upon arrival, they discovered a truck containing three women, with one of them—the 22-year-old—suffering from multiple gunshot wounds (GSW).
The investigation, still unfolding, indicates the woman was shot in her left inner thigh, pelvis, and right buttocks. Despite the initial call to 911 reporting a random shooting, evidence is starting to suggest the assault might be domestic violence-related. Officers were unable to immediately locate the actual scene of the shooting, and the suspect managed to quickly vanish before police cars could even converge on the scene.
Both the Seattle Police Department and the Seattle Fire Department responded to provide urgent medical assistance. The injured woman was subsequently transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition, emphasizing the gravity of the situation. Another woman from the truck was also taken to HMC for evaluation, although she did not sustain gunshot injuries.
