Sanford, Florida, has been rocked by a fatal road rage incident that ended in gunfire and the death of one driver. The Sanford Police Department reported that the shooting occurred yesterday afternoon, around 5:20 p.m. near the Vue on Lake Monroe apartments. According to a news release by ClickOrlando, 25-year-old Jaden Alexander Harris was arrested on charges of second-degree homicide with a firearm in relation to the shooting.
Details surfaced that the altercation between Harris and the now deceased driver began while both were driving near State Road 46 and Mangoustine Avenue. Upon arriving at the scene after the shooting, officers found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Fire officials transported the victim to a hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries, reported ClickOrlando. Harris, who remained at the scene, was booked into the John E. Polk Correctional Facility.
Chopper 2 captured video footage of the crime scene, showing a black Jeep surrounded by evidence markers. This was highlighted in additional coverage by WESH, which indicated the incident seemed to be an isolated event between the two drivers.
