A shooting in Northwest Baltimore left a 27-year-old man hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Baltimore Witness reported that the incident occurred yesterday, when a Baltimore Police Department (BPD) officer, who was on routine patrol, heard gunfire around 2:05 a.m. In searching the area, the officer found the victim on Fairlawn Avenue.
Medics arrived promptly, ensuring the man was treated for his injuries at a local hospital. While the investigation is still in its preliminary stages, officials believe the shooting happened in the 5100 block of Reisterstown Road, a short distance from where the victim was discovered. Hearing the shots fired, the officer found the victim minutes later, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Authorities are currently seeking information from the public to aid in the investigation. Detectives from the Northwest District encourage anyone with knowledge about the incident to come forward.
