Milwaukee’s Indigenous People’s Park will host the 3rd Annual Back to School Festival on Sunday, organized by Alderman Mark Chambers, Jr. in partnership with the Milwaukee Police Department’s 7th District. The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. and will feature free activities for children and families, according to the City of Milwaukee press release.

The festival will offer free food, music from a live DJ, health and wellness resources, bicycle giveaways, and on-site haircuts and braiding. Back-to-school supplies, including book bags, will also be distributed while supplies last.

Alderman Chambers highlighted that the festival is intended to prepare students for the school year while also supporting families and the community. The Milwaukee Police Department noted that the event is designed to provide a safe and welcoming environment for attendees.
