Gunfire broke out in West Milwaukee in the middle of the night, with shots fired from a pickup truck striking an occupied vehicle near the intersection of Miller Park Way and West Lincoln Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. The shooting unfolded near commercial businesses in a community that sits just south of Milwaukee's biggest sports venue.
According to CBS 58, the incident occurred at that intersection in the early morning hours. Miller Park Way is lined by a long stretch of commercial businesses and sits less than two miles south of American Family Field, home of the Milwaukee Brewers, according to Century 21 Affiliated. No injuries were reported, and police said a person inside a white Dodge Ram fired multiple shots at another vehicle.
Investigators have not said whether the shooting stemmed from a targeted dispute, a road-rage encounter, or a random act of violence — open questions that remain unanswered as the overnight investigation continues. The station's report did not indicate whether any arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
A Wave of Overnight Violence in a Small Suburb

Saturday's shooting, like that incident, unfolded in the overnight hours in a small suburban municipality surrounded almost entirely by the City of Milwaukee.

What Charges a Shooter Could Face
Under Wisconsin Statute § 941.20(3), intentionally discharging a firearm from a vehicle toward another person or occupied vehicle on a public highway is a Class F felony, carrying up to 12.5 years in prison, according to the Van Severen Law Office. That penalty breaks down into a mandatory 7.5 years of initial confinement followed by 5 years of extended supervision.
Prosecutors could also pursue charges under Wisconsin Statute § 941.30 for first-degree recklessly endangering safety — also a Class F felony — if they can prove utter disregard for human life, according to Grieve Law. A related second-degree version of that charge is a Class G felony carrying up to 10 years in prison.
Regional Gunfire Concerns Extend Beyond West Milwaukee
The shooting adds to broader concerns about firearm incidents in Milwaukee's inner-ring suburbs. In West Allis, firearm incidents have also drawn attention. West Allis and West Milwaukee are among the communities clustered around the city core.
Even so, broader crime concerns remain part of the region's public-safety discussion.
