Chicago resident Donte Patterson, 33, has been sentenced to 19 years in federal prison following his conviction for two armed carjackings and one armed robbery, spanning across state lines from Illinois to Wisconsin. In a case that underscores both the prevalence of violent crime and the collaboration between local and federal law enforcement, Patterson's criminal spree ended with significant jail time, according to the FBI - Milwaukee's Facebook post.
On August 20, 2025, Patterson committed an armed carjacking in his hometown of Chicago, an event that was merely a prologue to his criminal activities the following day. The next day, he continued his felonious campaign in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he carried out another armed carjacking and an armed robbery in West Milwaukee, brandishing a firearm in each instance. In both crimes, the threat of violence loomed heavy over victims struck by, sudden terror at the hands of a determined robber, as reported by the FBI - Milwaukee.
The successful apprehension and conviction of Patterson was the result of a concerted effort by the FBI's Milwaukee Area Violent Crime Task Force, which includes the Milwaukee and West Milwaukee Police Departments, along with the Chicago Police Department. This collaboration highlights the inter-agency cooperation crucial to tackling interstate crime. The FBI - Milwaukee posted on social media, confirming Patterson's sentencing which took place on Wednesday in the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
