
A 55-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred outside Legends Dance Hall in New Braunfels. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning when multiple individuals were involved in a disturbance in the dance hall's parking lot. According to FOX 7 Austin, officers from the New Braunfels Police Department, the Comal County Sheriff’s Office, and Texas DPS were called to the scene at around 12:10 a.m.
One adult male, subsequently identified as a 52-year-old from San Antonio, suffered a stab wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts by officers and subsequent treatment by paramedics from the New Braunfels Fire Department, the victim was transported to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. After reports of the large disturbance, the victim was found with an apparent stab wound, and next of kin have been notified, as per details shared by CBS Austin.
Through evidence and witness statements collected at the scene, investigators identified David Saldana, a 55-year-old New Braunfels resident, as the suspect. Saldana was later located at a home in the 200 block of Gruene Road, where an arrest warrant had been secured. The New Braunfels Police Department’s SWAT and Street Crimes Unit served the arrest warrant and took Saldana into custody without incident. He has been charged with homicide and is awaiting bond to be set following his booking into the Comal County Jail.
The investigation into the stabbing at Legends Dance Hall remains active.
