The Metropolitan Police Department has reported an arrest linked to a shooting that took place in Northwest Washington, DC. The alleged incident happened on Sunday and resulted in one individual being hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

According to a statement from the MPD, Third District officers were called to respond to the 1600 block of S Street, Northwest, after a shooting was reported around 1:35 a.m. They were able to quickly locate both the victim and the suspect. The victim, an adult male, was found to be conscious and breathing despite his injuries and was quickly transported to get medical aid, ensuring his chances to fully recover were, indeed, non-life-threatening.

The suspect did not flee the scene and was arrested without incident. MPD detectives have since charged Willetta Young-Moore, 61, of Northwest, DC, with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun), as per their investigation.
